Seven hundred seventeen cases were observed endoscopically in the Department of Urology, Hanyang University Hospital during the period from May, 1972 to April, 1977.
The following results were obtained :
1. During the period, the endoscopy was performed 7.44% for total patients.
2. The most common disease on cystoscopy was chronic cystitis 36.4%, urinary stone 19.9%, bladder tumor 11.7%. cervical cancer 6.4%, B.P.H. 5.1%, T.B. cystitis 4.8%, and others.
3. The most common urinary symptom was frequency 62.9%, tenesmus 53.7%, dysuria 32.8% nocturia 17.6%, urgency 16.4%, hematuria 16. 04%. and others.
4. The most common cystsocopic finding in chronic cystitis was trabeculation 45.9%.
5. Ureteral stone was passed with manipulation in 76%, and with expectant treatment in 31%.
6. The most common site of bladder tumor was on lateral wall in 21 cases (52. 5%).
7. The most common cystoscopic finding in base line study of cervical cancer was hyperemic congestion on the trigone 58.7%.
8. The most common cystoscopic finding in B.P.H. was chronic inflammation on bladder mucosa 81%, kissing sign 70%, trabeculation 40.5% and hypertrophy of the trigone 27%.
9. Retrograde ureteral catheterization was performed in 127 cases (17. 7%).
